Tribunal Awards Increase

From 1st February 2008, there are new limits on the awards that can be granted to employees at Employment Tribunal.

 
The new rates will apply to dismissals taking place on or after 1 February 2008. For an employee dismissed before 1 February, the old rates apply even though the Employment Tribunal hearing takes place after that date.

 

The main increases under the Employment Rights (Increase of Limits) Order 2007.

are:

 

Unfair Dismissal:

Maximum compensation will increase from £60,600 to £63,000

 

"A week's pay:"

The maximum amount used for calculating Statutory Redundancy Pay, and the Basic Award for unfair dismissal changes from £310 to £330 per week.
