Employers must provide written contracts to their apprentices, usually involving three parties - the apprentice, the parent or guardian, the employer.
A written statement in accordance with Part I of the ERA 1996 will not be sufficient for a contract of apprenticeship.
Verbal agreements will not normally be enforceable as a Contract of Apprenticeship, although they may be regarded as a contract of employment.
Note:
Always take advice before terminating a Contract of Apprenticeship.
